ウエルシュ菌は、多くの種類の毒素を産生する細菌で、食中毒の原因菌としてよく知られています。 この菌は土中や下水、人の正常な腸内フローラなどに存在しています。ウエルシュ菌は、酸素があると増殖できない「嫌気性細菌」です。このため、酸素を遮断する容器を使って撮影しました。増殖は早く、30分ごとに分裂しました。
C. perfringens (formerly known as C. welchii or Bacillus welchii) is a bacterium that produces many kinds of toxins and well known as a cause of food poisoning. This bacteria lives in many different environment, such as sewage, soil and human healthy gut flora.
C. perfringens is an anaerobic bacterium. They can not grow under the environment in which oxygen exists. Therefore, we took timelapse microphotography using oxygen barrier container. The growth rate is very high, doubling every 30 minutes.
